Designing flexible pages

Published on June 24, 2026 - 5 min read

Flexible pages come from a small number of predictable layout primitives.

Use layout blocks deliberately

Containers define readable width and section spacing. Grids define repeated structures. Cards frame grouped content when the group needs a boundary.

Keep content editable

Use headings, paragraphs, lists and cards directly so editors can move and revise content without editing HTML by hand.

Good defaults are not decorative. They make the first editing session understandable.
